Dave Parry LETS RUN Winter Fell Race Series 2025/26Individuals final tables, overall, age categories and endurance award update. The award presentations will commence at the Fox and Hounds Chase Fell Race on Sunday 3rd May, and will continue throughout the summer, so don't ask a teammate to pick up your award, have a moment in the spotlight and celebrate your achievement with your peers.Race Organisers/Volunteers, just before you read about the runners, a big thank you to the RO's and Volunteers without them, the fell races do not happen, across the series there were 200 volunteering stints, and many more by none series participants. There were also many charitable donations from race proceeds. The sport of fell running is organised by the volunteer led The Fell Runners Association the races are not for profit with any surplus funds being donated to charities, good causes and modest amounts can be retained by clubs to sustain fell racing and running activities. Also, thank you to Shelli Gordon at our number sponsor LETS RUN as well as the land owners who give their permissions, our registration venue hosts and the family members and partners who support the runners. So Thank you everyone involved. And now to the fell runners. In the women's overall championship with 274 participants, none of the leading contenders attended Heartbeat Hobble so the cards were left where they fell. So Tabitha McNicholas FO North York Moors AC and Hester Butterworth F55 Scarborough AC share the Championship with Jess Evans F45 St Theresa's AC keeping her third place with Marianne Borsheim F50 Scarborough AC fourth and Rose Mather FO York Knavesmire Harriers fifth. In the men's competition with 577 participants the same applied with Dan Bateson M40 Scarborough AC and Robbie Preston MO Pickering RC on Yorkshire Three Peaks duties, like a good proportion of the North York Moors fell running community, though they had already sealed their Champions and Runners Up spots.Paul Lawton MO Scarborough AC placed third with M45 age groupers Ian Rowan Esk Valley Fell Club and Tim Grimwood Swaledale Runners fourth equal. In the age group categories these were all concluded with the Under 23 awards to Grace Cook Loftus & Whitby A.C and Matthew Clark Esk Valley Fell Club. The open category to Robbie and Tabitha, the V40 awards to Dan and Victoria Burns of Middlesbrough + Cleveland Harriers, the V45 awards to Jess and Ian, the V50's were won by Marianne and Reiner Hesse Loftus & Whitby A.C The V55 category was claimed by Hester and Adrian Bushby City of Hull Athletic Club, the V60's by Joanna Schreiber of Pudsey & Bramley AC and Jim Rogers City of Hull Athletic Club, and the V65's by Alison Lloyd North York Moors AC and Richard Parkin Beverley AC.Neil RIP Ridsdale of Esk Valley Fell Club who competes in the V65 category had the distinction in this series of completing all 13 races the series and winning his age category in every one of the races. (The volunteer bonus points sealed it for Richard).Closing out with the older categories, Karl Edwards of Hartlepool Burn Road Harriers eased to the V70 age category win, he nearly matched Neil's achievement, competing in 11 events and claiming the age group in each of them. And Neil Scruton Scarborough AC made a return to fitness just in time to win the V75 age category with victories in each of the four races he participated in.And last but by no means least, the endurance awards, this years minimum cut-off is set at participation in 10 events, of which at least eight must be races completed and up to two can be as volunteer or race organiser.Robert Lillie - Scarborough ACClive Thornton - Esk Valley Fell Club ...
